The Navigation Courses run by Jonathan of Where2Walk will give you the skills and confidence to get out and explore the dales and hills with friends and family.

Jonathan is a fully qualified and experienced instructor and the courses all operate in the wonderful landscape of the Yorkshire Dales.

Map & Compass Day (Beginner)

Course location: Long Preston

A 1-day course for beginners who want to be able to use a map confidently in the outdoors, plan their own walks and follow paths and other linear features.

A 1-day course for those wanting to develop their map skills, leave paths and use a compass to navigate confidently on open land.

Navigation Training Weekends in the Dales

Course location: Settle

We have a number of weekend courses for those who want to spend more time on their map and compass skills,
in essence combining the Beginners and Intermediate days and having time for a drink and a chat about all things walking.

Covid 19

 All precautions with regards to disinfection, cleanliness and social distancing will be taken during the day. Group size, maximum of 6.

 

Further Information

Each 1-day course will have a maximum of 7 and a minimum of 2 participants.

Maps and Compasses are provided and tea or coffee will also be available before we head outdoors.

Please bring the following items for the course: Sturdy walking boots/shoes, outdoor clothing suitable for the weather and a packed lunch.
